Subject: Palm OS reader...

Since I haven't seen anything on the subject since 2002 I imagine no
one has successfully created an Armybuiler Viewer for Palm, so I have
recently (as of about 1hr ago) decided to create one. I have noticed
you have decided to use the XML format for storing the files and have
noticed that you have a *.dtd file for the format in the XML
directory of armybuilder.

But in trying your ab2html example program, I get the following:

Error opening and reading XML file.

Have you changed the XML format at all since this sample program has
been written? Is the DTD file even up to date? These are things I
will need to know before making my viewer...

Thanks in advance for any advice you give..

Subject: Help with imported data file problem

Hello all! I've read through the FAQ, common problems, asked
questions etc. and can't seem to find an answer. I have downloaded
some data files, like the newest 40k version and they imported
without any problems. However, Armybuilder doesn't give me the
option to select that game system. What is happening here? I used
Internet Explorer to download and tried it a few times. The files
are in the "data" file but they aren't registering in Armybuilder.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you downloaded the file straight to your data directory? Is that all?
That's not enough. You must now open army builder and click the "import
file" button. Find and select the file you downloaded and click "open".
Once you have done this and gone through the import procedures, it should
then appear in the game system list. If not, I dunno what's wrong.

Hope this helps,
Mark

Have you upgraded to Army Builder v2.2c? There were changes to the
definition file that made them not appear for early versions of Army
Builder. Upgrading should fix this problem (you can download the update
from http://www.wolflair.com/).

Hope this helps,

How strange. I just tried running ab2html and got the same results; we'll
look into this, but we're currently scrambling to get Card Vault v1.4 out
of the door, so we might not get to it for a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, try looking at the cavprint extension (in the extensions
folder) - this should at least show you the basics of how to load a saved
roster, and I'm pretty sure that it works (I compiled and ran it a few
months ago, if I recall correctly).

Oh, and as far as we know, the DTD is up to date.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
