Deleting an item I created?

Hello everyone!

I was playing around with the editor, creating various items and what-not. I tested them, and they were available to use in HL. Now that I'm done playing around, how do I delete the items I created from the item lists in HL? (example: I made a magic weapon, and it was available to my character, but now I want to delete it from existance). Thanks!

In the .user file, delete that item (or delete the whole user file if you were only testing things).

Then, in the main HL window, press ctrl-r to quick-reload the game system. (Or choose switch game system and come back to Pathfinder, or close and restart HL, but those both take more time).

This is definitely a rookie question, but where are the .user files located? When I open the Hero Lab folder, the only folders I see are "docs" and "products".

From inside of HL go to "Tools->Explore Folders->Game System Data Folder".

Can't anymore give an exact answer as its different depending on the which version of windows you have but above will always find them. :)

Thanks, found it from inside HL. I'm operating a 64 bit Vista system. Do I open the file with notepad or something like that? Thanks again, I appreciate the help!

Well you can but you will be dealing with the RAW XML. Be much easier to just start HL editor and then open the .user file. Then click the "Tab" that your Thing exists on and just click the blue "delete" button? Then restart HL and your item/Thing will be gone.

I think Mathias assumed by your question you where already using the editor in which case you just "delete" the thing you want to remove and re-load the game system.

For managing .user files you may wish to check out THIS video tutorial. It goes over the basics of .user files and the basics of the HL editor.

Hope that helps.
