Deity questions

Why am I here? Why does the universe exist?

OK, seriuosly . . . I'm adding my own deities, and I have two questions:

1. Is there a way, within Hero Lab to restrict what deities a character can choose depending on what alignment they choose? Or the other way around? Or both?

2. I'm adding my deities to my own source. Let's say I'm calling it "Eight's World". Is there a way where, if someone selects "Eight's World" as a source, all other deities are hidden? I know I can do this if I go one by one, adding each deity's unique ID to the hidden list, but is there a way I can tell it to hide ALL deities except for the ones that are explicitly defined in this source?

It all started when Odin and his brothers killed the Giant Ymir...

1. Certain classes, like the cleric, have a built in requirement that their deity be within 1 step of their own alignment. For other classes, there is no such requirement, but you could use a mechanic to enforce one.

2. Not currently, but I am working on such a system for Inner Sea Gods. As things stand now, you have to add a preclude for each and every god, which is unfeasable because:

A: there are like, 300 gods already and the list keeps growing, forcing you to keep updating your precludes.

And B: If you want to share this file with the precludes with your players, any who lack the package containing a precluded god will error out and got to safe mode. That means they must either own all the same packages you do, or you have to change the file before sharing to tailor it to each player.

It's not set in stone yet, but right now I am thinking that it will be a tag based system where you exclude certain categories of gods from being shown by applying a tag to the hero. Then you can make your own deities with a different set of tags, so they are not excluded.

Oooh I like the sound of that Aaron. I have 50 ish deities of my own I've been adding. To be able to shut down pantheons at a time would be sweet.

Yeah, it's been a problem in my own homebrew campaign as well. Glad ISG is giving me an excuse to fix it.

Look for it in the ISG release near the end of April.
