... all I want for Christmas is an easy way to buy licenses (including data package licenses!) for my friends.

So far I've refrained from buying gift licenses for anyone. If somebody has an existing character, they're going to want to stat that character up in HL once they get it. But if it uses stuff from three data packages outside of core, well, that's the kind of gift which makes them feel like they're obligated to spend money in order to make the most of the gift. Which is to say, not a real gift.

Seriously. I would totally buy a core license + player's bundle (APG, UM, UC, maybe Mythic Adventures) for at least three other people if I could. But it's never going to happen till I can get them data packages as well as the core program.
 
That is actually on the to-do list! Our new store, which already hosts Realm Works, should make this possible for users in the future! We'll be transferring Hero Lab and Army Builder over to the new store in the future (ETA currently to be determined). Sadly, it won't be ready for Christmas. :(
 
Bump! Still hoping to gift copies of data package licenses to people someday. Any motion on that front yet?

It's still on the to-do list, but we don't have an ETA. When we have an ETA that we can share, it'll be announced with a good deal of pomp, as I know others are looking for the same functionality.
