How will we know that there has been an update to the Ddi info, will it tells when we boot up HL or will we have to just check from time to time or can we have a post here in the forums to let us know that new content has been added?
 
Since the DDI info is tied to what Wizards publishes on their website, that's something that you currently need to monitor on the site. Wizards is regularly adjusting the format of their content on DDI, which is why the downloader will sometimes stop working. When that happens, we're updating the downloader to adjust to the new format, at which point the 4e data files are updated. So you can use updates to the 4e data files as an indicator, but you ultimately need to monitor the Wizards site via your DDI account to identity the release of new DDI content.
 
WotC publishes updates to the Character Builder on the last tuesday of the month. Up to now, this has been very reliable.

Yup. 2 updates ago they made some major changes which took us a few days to handle; this month it was much easier. Look for an update soon after the last Tuesday of the month.
