Hi all, My hero lab crashed 3 days ago and I had to wipe all the data files and re install the program in order to get it working again.

However I also discovered that my backup of the custom data files containing the Complete Warrior Splat book feats and others were corrupted and wouldn't load.
The months of inputting all that data now lost down the pan!!!

So here is a request for help, Could anyone that has a Data file of the complete warrior feats please share it with me, I'm dreading all the work that it would entail to restart from scratch again, but if necessary i'll do it and optimise my editing techniques!

What exactly does corrupted mean? Are the .user files still there, but HL gives you numerous compilation errors? Did you store them inside some sort of archive now can't be opened?

I'd be happy to take a look at the old files, and see if there's anything I can fix.

I have the version of your files you emailed be back in February, and I've emailed them back to you - it'll be something.

It was nothing as dramatic as that, all I did was alter a bit of scripting in the editor trying to get "Improved Weapon Familiarity" as described in Complete Warrior for racial weapons. I tried to recompile and the application just locked up. The User files wouldn't load at all once i'd done a reinstall, so I just deleted them out of the Data folder and it worked!

Thats a godsend Mgehl thanks for the prompt response and for saving my user files. They were just what I needed, it's saved me loads of time.
 
If the deleted user files are still in your recycling box, recover them and email them to me - it shouldn't be hard to edit the XML, delete the offending feat, and get them working again. The version I sent is 5 months old, so hopefully all but one feat can be saved.

Also, if a file is causing a hangup, and not just compilation errors, Rob and Colen ought to take a look at that, and fix the programming error.

Unfortunately, I don't like the Recycle bin "Safe" delete option, once I delete stuff it gets a secure data wipe straight away.
I know it's risky and as has happened i've lost months of Data entry but I like to have an uncluttered Hard drive.
The 5 month old data file is fine i'll just re enter feats from the point I have and try to get "Improved Weapon familiarity" to work somehow!
