Darwins World

Is there any plans on putting Darwins World into the Hero Lab/Savage Worlds format? My gaming group is starting a Darwins World game next month and I noticed that HL supports Savage Worlds. Would be nice to be able to use if for Darwins World. :)

I know this is a late response but I agree. I love Darwns World and it would be cool if I could use Hero Lab with it. Or does anyone know where to find an unofficial set for DW or d20 Apocalypse?

I don't think there is a Darwin's World file done yet. Most of the files have been done by the community through official channels with permission from the companies that own the games and then put into the downloader. Some files have been done by community users which you must contact them to get those files. I myself have done the High-space files with permission from Storyweaver Games and try to keep them updated as best I can. So I would believe it would be up to some one from the community to make the file and then to make it official for download in Hero Lab, they would have get permission from the owner or they could make it and have people sent request with there email. That being Said I'm not sure of any one working on it. If they are nothing has been said as far as I can tell. You might want to try your hand at it and if you run into any problems just ask for help. The community here is really good at helping out when needed.
Hope that answered some of your questions. JBear

Just to add to JBear's response, there is a thread at the top of this forum called "Where You Can Find User Greated Files for Certain Settings" where folks who have made data files will often list any ones they have created and made available for the community. Those are mainly non-Pinnacle data files since I believe LWD has an agreement in place already with Pinnacle for releasing their stuff (and most of those data files are available through the updater in HL now, and the ones that aren't are in the pipeline for approval.)

For the third-party files... I don't have Darwin's World so I couldn't do that one myself (although if you contact the company that makes it and get them to send me a copy I'd do it for free. ;)) but as JBear mentioned there are a few of us here on the forum that could help you out if you want to try and get it put into the Editor or run into any issues doing so. If you do create a data file, though, you could also consider contacting the company that makes it and see if they'd be willing to work with LoneWolf to license their data file officially through the HL Updater. Always a great thing, IMHO, as I know more than a few folks who've really gained an interest in and bought a setting after seeing a data file that intrigued them. I think that's what JBear did with High Space (although he really went above and beyond on that one... being able to use the Editor to actually make ships is not only way cool it's really pushing the limits of anything I ever expected we could do in Hero Lab!)

Working DW file at the moment. It's not official so it will not be on the updater, BUT I will post it on the Rocky Mountain Savages when done. I am currently working on the backgrounds. Expect to see it about January.

I am also working on unofficial files for Mars, Ravaged Earth 2ed edition, Achtung! Cthulhu, and the Interface Zero 2.0 open play test, Officially I am in the middle of an update for Rippers where I am adding the Players guide. I am busy this holiday season..very very busy. ;)

dartnet I was wondering if you ever thought about making a 1st file for your data files. Like I have set up for High-Space and zarlor has set up for his files. The 1st file sets up a heading for your file. Just a thought with you doing so many different data files.
