D&D 3.5 to PF Compatability

One of the big things about Pathfinder was the fact that it was backwards compatible with D&D 3.5. That said, outside of reentering all of my 3.5 using the Pathfinder Editor, is there anyway to cross pick stuff from the 3.5 rules set to Pathfinder.

ie. If I bootup Hero Lab in Pathfinder mode, but I have the Complete Warrior installed under the d20 folder, is there a way to choose the Ronin Prestige Class (for instance), while staying in the Pathfinder version of Hero Lab?

If not, is there a simple way to convert a 3.5 .USER file to Pathfinder?

Yes if there is a way to do this it would be great. Otherwise I would hate to have to input everything manually.

It will all depend on how much scripting the d20 .user files have. For example their is a 3.5 .user file for the Spell Compendium that moved over very easily to pathfinder as spells are basically the same thing with no scripting.

For classes their where allot of structural changes between 3.5 and pathfinder so the scripts will need to be updated. Small things like field names like xValue is now abValue and such would need to be updated to the pathfinder structure. Though I know little to nothing about the d20 structure so I couldn't even tell you everything that would need to be converted.

The easiest method would be to open up two instances of HL one running d20 and one in Pathfinder. Then copy and past from the d20 files into the pathfinder editor for each Thing. Basically re-making the class over again to be compatible with the pathfinder structure.

Hope that helps.

Outside of that though, if oyu want to use the same information for both system, you need to enter it into both systems.
