Cyber Upgrades

Can anyone give some guidance on how to go about upgrading cyber implants in Hero Lab.

I understand that the general rule is that by upgrading the quality of a cyber implant it creates a 'donut hole' of essence that could be refilled with additional cyber gear.

I do not see a way of doing this within the program. It appears my only option is to sell off the current cyber implant, but it is returning the essence associated with that particular implant.

The essence hole rule isn't actually in the core rulebook. Back in 4th edition, it also wasn't in the core rulebook - it was added in the Augmentation book. So I suspect that once 5th edition gets its sourcebook about cyberware and bioware, that rule will be put back into the game, and then back into HL.

(Note that SRM does impose that rule, and it's not currently implemented for SRM - that's on my to-do list).
