I am doing a cvcheck for a new set of datafiles for a game not supported yet in card vault. I have been debugging the datafiles successfully by loading it with Card Vault 1.5a. I receive no errors loading the datafiles and doing a cvexport on the datafiles creates no problems and the resultant CV file imports in just fine.. WHen I do a "scan" with cvcheck on the datafiles, I get a "checking definition file... Error: Could not read current datafiles! Are there errors in them?"

Is there a way to get better error details than that? A log or command line option?

An error like that should only be occurring when the data files are
actually invalid, so CVCheck shouldn't need to report any details - you
should be able to get them just by compiling the data files.

Could you send me the .cv export file (to colen at wolflair dot com) for me
to take a look at?

Thanks,

I found the cause. In the def file, I used the word alighnment instead of alignment for some tag groups. You were correct, it showed up when I tried to compile the datafiles using card vault (in the debug datafile menu) but didn't show up loading the files in card vault or cvexport. Thanks for your help.
