I have no idea why this might be occuring...

What are the specs of the computer system?
Is it a slow system?
Is it limited in terms of memory?
What O/S are you running?
What graphics card is in use?
Do you have the latest video drivers?
What other programs are running?
Does the problem occur the same with all game systems or is CV slow only
for a select few?
If the latter, which ones?
Did CV suddenly start running slowly on this computer after running quickly
before?

Those questions ought to at least get a decent start on helping to identify
the problem. :-)

Well I only use it for LoTR so.

Yep

But it's very odd sometimes it runs very fast and other times very
slow (at an annoying speed)

Well, it's clearly a fast system with plenty of resources, so that's not
the issue. :-)

However, you state that CV used to run well and then began to run slowly at
some point. That's highly indicative of something else having changed on
your computer. What other software/hardware did you install or upgrade
between CV running well and then running slowly?

In addition, you state that CV will sometimes run fast and other times run
slow. That's another hallmark of something else running on your system
that's causing the slowdown.

When CV runs slowly, launch the Task Manager within Windows. You can do
this by right-clicking on the taskbar (in a region where nothing but bare
taskbar is displayed) and selecting "Task Manager". Within the Task
Manager, click on the Processes tab. Look at the CPU column for a little
while and watch the numbers change for a few processes (most will be zero).
Identify the processes that have non-zero values appearing and list them
here, along with the typical values for each (they'll be between 0-100).
That will give a clear indication of whether it's CV with the problem or
something else on your computer.

Thanks, Rob

Due to what u said that other programs may be taking up resources and
I remembered earlier it was running fine when AOL was closed and now
that it was up CV was running slow, this is somewhat of a problem as
I use CV when IMing on my AOL acct. Any idea's on this?

CV isn't doing anything at all to cause this. You can verify this by
launching the Task Manager as outlined previously and seeing that the CPU
usage number for CV sits at zero when it's not being used.

Given your statements, you will also likely see IM or AOL running with a
large number. This means that IM or AOL is sucking up the resources of your
computer in an inappropriate way. Assuming this is the case, the issue is
with IM/AOL, so there is nothing that can be done about it on our end. CV
is running slowly because IM/AOL is chewing up all sorts of CPU time when
it sits "idle" in the background, leaving only a small amount available for
CV.

Your only recourse is to contact AOL about the problem. I realize that
contacting them is a lot like intentionally putting your bare hand on a hot
stove, but only they can fix problems within IM/AOL. :-(

-Rob

P.S. This problem will also likely occur with any other program you try to
run at the same time that IM/AOL is running. Just something else you can
verify...
