Cut and Paste / Undo Functionality

This may be a more general Hero Lab situation, and I know I mentioned this on the Atomic Think Tank, but it would be nice to have some kind of Cut-and-Paste or Drag-and-Drop capability so that we could duplicate abilities (For example, say I have a Perception-range Blast with a Burst Area that has levels of Indirect and Progression, and I'd like to write up APs that employ other Area types) and fiddle with different structures (I had a character built using Metamorph and then realized it was easier to build him using Alternate Form. As a result, I had to manually rebuild everything, including a large device with multiple Alternate Powers). ^_^ It's also possible that I'm missing a way to do this in-game.

Lastly, it would be nice to have a simple 2-3 level Undo for those situations where you realize a step or two too late that you deleted the wrong power.

Oh good googly-moogly yes!!!!!! Many times I have worked something up and then wanted to drop it into an Array slot OR take it out of the Array slot but still keep it as a Power for the character. :)

Now, it may not be possible to do a drag & drop or a true highlight, 'cntrl-c/cntrl-v' cut & paste but perhaps a "copy" button in the power creation window that that will duplicate the power you created and allow you to "paste" it either in another array slot where it can be tweaked or outside of the array.

As for a 2 or 3 level Undo.....yes please. :) Accompanying "D'oh!" sound effect is entirely optional of course. ;)

Keep up the good work,

I've long wanted the ability to create 'Macro' powers or devices... which I could save off and use over and over. For example, in one campaign, the characters were all issued a standard costume which had some built-in powers. It would be great to build that device and save it out so I could drop it into multiple characters quickly and easily.
:)

Copy and paste would be the next best thing, though! :)

A program which I use at work, ReporterPlus, allows one to save off individual nodes to files and to re-import them. While slightly more clumsy than a straight cut and paste, this would allow for things like a standardized set of devices and templates. ^_^ Heck, some enterprising soul could probably release a "Gimcrack's Guide to Gadgets" with a file with various handy devices put together. Assuming, of course, that Hero Lab data files are valid for SuperLink.

By the by, regarding the common devices, would you be able to add it as a custom power? It's a bit clunky, and again requires re-inputting data, but it might ultimately save you a lot of trouble.

The ability to copy and paste powers would make life easier for me both as a GM and player. I hope something like this can be added.

Being able to save and load individual powers would definitely be very cool. The "Macro" that Shadowchaser mentions is something we want to let you do with Templates, but unfortunately there are some architectural issues that have to be fixed before we can let that happen.

These are all great ideas, and many of them are already on our to-do list. It's just a matter of finding the time to implement them, along with all the other awesome ideas that you guys have suggested. :)
