Custom Staves

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. But is there a way to add custom staves to Herolab Online? I know if you are using the program I can go into the editor and create a staff.

thanks

This is the HLC forum - not online. You want the HLO - Pathfinder forum, and make sure you are in the right one for 1st or 2nd edn.
In any case, there's no editor in HLO, so you can't do it that way. You should be able to add a custom item, and possibly use adjustments to give it the powers you want.

How about making a Custom Staff in HLC just like Custom Wands. Is there a way?

Yes, its basically the same thing... with the editor.

Copying an existing staff is possibly the best start and then add what you need.

A wand is just a "battery" containing 50 charges (at creation) of a single spell. The caster level is defaulted to the minimum required. There is an entry in the magic item list "Custom Wand" to simplify the creation of a wand with a non-default number of charges or caster level.

By contrast, a Staff can have other non-spell effects (such as weapon enhancement) as well as a number of spells within it, and doesn't have a default Caster Level in the way a wand does. It can also allow the user to substitute his/her own casting ability (caster level, casting attribute applied to spell DC) instead of the built-in values. A Staff has a smaller number of maximum charges (10), but can be re-charged by the user.

Because the Staff is much more complex than a Wand, there is no quick way to build one like a wand has in HLC, and it would be very complex to make such a tool.
