Custom special materials for items

Is it possible to create custom special materials for weapons and armor? I would like to do so, but I haven't found whether that's possible. I've successfully created some spells, feats, and other odds and ends...but never a special material.
 
The editor should have a tab dedicated to materials under Equipment→Material. From there you can make your own weapon/armor materials, as well as take a peek at how other materials are scripted.
