Crimson Slaughter Icons of Chaos

I've been looking through the Crimson Slaughter codex supplement, and it seems to be that units can't take Icons of Chaos, even when given the appropriate Mark. I've gone back through the book, and I cant find any mention of Crimson Slaughter units being unable to purchase Chaos Icons. HALP?
