Creating a spell list for a new class

Hello!

I've got another question concerning the spell lists, but I didn't want to make a new thread of this (I presume this is not viewed upon as rude in this forum, is it? If so, I apologize):

I wanted to add an archtype from a 3rd party publisher (the "Celestial Commander" from "The Secrets of Tactical Archetypes" by Rite Publishing) , and this archtype wants me to delete certain spells from the summoner spell list and add further spells, that are not on the spell list.

I think I have to use copies of the new spells on the list and link them to this archtype, but how am I to get rid of the standard spells (in this case all spells that affect the eidolon among others)?

Many thanks in advance!

Your post was unrelated to the rest of the thread, so I moved it into its own thread.

In the editor, select the help menu at the top, and choose the first option - "Help on Using the Editor"

On that page, go to Tutorial #7, and then to the "Alchemist's Spell List" section - that covers how to create a new spell list for a new class you're creating.

Thanks a lot for the move - and also for the directions!
I was aware that I could recreate the archetype as new class, but so far, I thought it to be simpler to just create it as archetype.

Now, it seems I can not use the editor to delete single spells from the "parent-Class" in the archetype-tab, correct?
And I also can not exclude an archtype from receiving these spells by making a copy of the spell and replacing the original, right?

If that's the case, I'll just start from scratch... *sigh*

Archetypes can add new spells to a class - that's handled on the spells themselves (all the archetypes are among the list of classes a spell can be available to), but there aren't any automatic mechanisms to allow them to remove spells.

In my opinion, enforcing that rule that the spell list is reduced is not worth the time required to rebuild a complex class like summoner - I'd just leave it up to the user to not take those spells.

I guess you are right about that - I will simply include a note that those spells are not to be chosen. Thanks for the advice!
