Creating a Mount/Companion creature...

So I'm looking to add a few exotic mounts for a campaign...my problem is, I'm not sure how/which tab to do this.

I checked out the horse tab and I'm trying to follow it...

Race Tab:
the New (Copy) feature...I know that

a horse is saved as "rmHorse" and is checked as an NPC race.

Race, Animal Companion tab has a:
horse saved as anhorse

Finally, Minion/heirlings tab has Horse, Heavy (Combat Trained)
and it's minion setting looks to the race...

now I've done this for my Riding beastie, made a race, companion, and minion tag but when it gets added none of its attributes or movement or anything seem to show up...

Edit:
And now it does...false alarm.
But as I try to figure this out for myself...someone help me verify which is true:

To create a mount, I need a race entry, and I need a Minion entry.
The Animal Companion Horse is for Ranger/Druid action, correct? Or do I need all three tabs to have my beastie of burden?

Apparently an Animal Companion entry is required to show my beastie on the Mounts and Hirelings tab on the character sheet. Is this correct?

Correct - you only need the Race, Anim Comp tab if your race can be chosen as a druid's animal companion.
