Creating a monster database

Sorry what do you mean search your content for links?

Auto linking occurs when you save any article you are editing but I suspect that's not what you are referring to.

Here's a link to some shortcuts, prtty sure they are pulled from the help file.

Ask all the questions mate, no issues at all.

There is a menu command on each snippet to "Clear content links and re-scan".

For the whole topic, I usually just add and then remove a space at the end of one snippet (to make register as it "dirty" / changed) and then save.

There is not currently any way to trigger Realm-wide scanning.

Oh and monsters should have two names.

Ork (individual) Orks (plural)

Do this at time of creation to save yourself issues later.

I never ever use plural.

For my entries that I intend to have linked will look like:

Kobold (5): Ac blah blah
Spider, Giant (4): AC Yada Yada Yada.

This is in my mind a better route, if you never use plural, you never have to worry about links.

The adventure books release by WOTC all use plurals. That's the reason for my decision. I would alternatively need to rewrite all the monster names in the modules as I input the data which would be incredibly inefficient.

#2 - Create the Orc article and add in the Hero Lab snippet. Now create variations of the Orc inside that portfolio using Hero Lab. This way when you click the integrate button from RW to HL you get a prompt that lets you choose how many of each variant you want to add to the fight.

#2 is my preferred method these days.

Is there a way to do this method and have seperate pictures for each of the variants you include in the portfolio for a particular race? For example, I have lizardfolk, lizardfolk shaman, and lizardfolk king all in one portfolio, and would like different pictures for each when I add them to an encounter.
