Create custom links for all instances of this selection

Does anyone know what this is supposed to do?

I can't seem to get it to work like I think it should - actually as far as I can tell it doesn't do anything at all - was curious if it's just me or if others can get it to work and if so how.

It's a way to make all instances of a specific piece of text in a Topic/Article that wouldn't automatically link to anything link to something. Say that you had some snippets that looked like this:

1. Example
When the party encounters the mysterious stranger, he attempts to escape.

2. Setup
Mysterious Stranger: hiding in the shadows.
You could link both instances of "mysterious stranger" by:

  1. Selecting either instance.
  2. Choosing "Create New Custom Links For All Instances Of Selection..." from the context menu.
  3. Picking "Yes" in the subsequent dialog box.
  4. Selecting an item in the resulting dialog box.
  5. Pressing OK.
Now both instances of "mysterious stranger" should link to the chosen Topic/Article/Plot.

FWIW, I thought the warning dialog explained it decently, though it's unfortunate it doesn't have a "don't show this again" checkbox.

No - that's what I thought it should do - but for whatever reason I wasn't able to get it to work - I'll try re-launching and see if it clears up - I can't remember using it previously and I'll have to do more testing before I say mines broke for good - I just figured I'd ask to make sure what I thought it should do was in fact what it did.

I hope that made sense - thank you though for the reply :)
