Core Powers and Super Powers Companion Incompatible?

I bought the Super Powers Companion data pack and was surprised when I found that choosing that as a source makes the powers in the core book disappear. Are they incompatible? If so, help me to know why. Is there any way to get all the powers to appear in the super powers tab?

What power(s) specifically? It looks like all the Super Powers are there to me. Regular power from SWD would show up on an Arcane tab if you had a standard AB, though. They are two different things when all is said and done because SWD Powers don't have a Super Power Point cost. So if there is something in SWD that isn't listed in the SPC you'd have to get a ruling on what the Super Power Points cost for it would be. I didn't think there was anything missing, though?

Zarlor, thanks for the info. I guess I was confused because if I don't turn on the super power companion data file, then when I choose AB: Super powers, I get the list of powers in SWD but when I choose the super power companion data file and choose: AB: Super powers, I get the list in the companion book which is not the same as in SWD. I was hoping to be able to mix powers from both. I can't find a way to choose another AB after choosing AB: Super powers, so I can't figure out how to mix powers from the two different lists.

I'm trying to build a jedi. I've seen some of the conversions that I have been done and I like them; however, I want to come as close to the existing rules as I can. SWD has some powers that would fit well that aren't in Super Power Companion (SPC). For example, Detect/Conceal Arcana would work well for detecting the force and hiding oneself with the force. Boost/Lower Trait would work well for the force enhancing the jedi's attributes. Likewise, SPC has some powers that would work well such as Parry with Catch and Throw to mimic lightsabers reflecting blasters back at the shooter. I can mix these things if I create a character by hand, but I'd like to be able to do it with Hero Lab since I've spent the money on it.

Well, the reason it's two lists is because AB: Super Powers from the SPC works in a fundamentally different way from AB: Super Powers in SWD. That's based on the rules themselves so I can see why they needed to implement it that way in Hero Lab, too.

You can copy them over, though, in the Editor. You would just need to open the Editor maybe New (Copy) one of the powers you want to pull over, so you can copy the text and see what other things it might be doing, then create a New Super Power with that name, full in all the same stuff from the original power and then assign it what you feel is an appropriate Super Power Cost.

If you have any trouble trying to do any of that just let us know here and we'll be happy to help out. For appropriate SPC costs, though, you might ask over on the Pinnacle forum as there are some really experienced folk there who could probably give you some insigt on what would be appropriate for those powers.

Hope that helps!
