Confusion about Aliases and Link Detection

Farnaby

Well-known member
Here's an interesting one:

Playing around with spells, feats and skills, I wanted to make sure that the correct one was linked.
I noticed that the skills are always capitalised in the pdfs.
The skill is Fly, the spell is fly.

So I went and set up the names as follows (seen in image Fly 1)

Name Case Priority
Fly Sensitive Prefer
Other Names
fly skill Ignore Avoid
fly check Ignore Avoid

And the result is that fly skill Target 1 and then Fly as Target 2 (seen in image Fly 2).
I've tried changing the priorities, I've capitalised the aliases and changed sensitivity but to no avail.

Anyone know why the alias is preferred over the public name?

Best match is always the first option offered. You've got "Fly skill" in the snippet and the linker finds that string in its look up table so it offers it to you as the best match.
