Confirmation window sometimes moves behind the main HL window for saving a file making it imposable to close or cancel the window. I have ran into this a few times I have lost a few game saves this way but now I have a work around.
As you can see in the pic below in the aero view window you can see there is a confirmation window to save the file I was working on but it is not there on the main screen as it has dropped behind the main HL window.
To get around this <alt> <tab> till you get to the HL window then hold <alt> for a few seconds the confirmation window will move to the front temporally. Release tab and a half second later hit enter as the default option is <save> it will save overwriting the old save.
