I have read this section in the docs and exactly what you describe as the rare occurance is what I am trying to simulate.
A unit is common to two different races, but each race has this unit in a different group category (one HQ and one Legendary). Another race can ally with either of the above races and thus take the unit, but where it should be selected of course depends on what allied race is chosen. Using the exclusions I have successfully allowed the unit to be seen and added to the proper group category once selected - but in the available units it can only be seen in All Units filter, and not under the Group filter where it shoud be, which is blank.
Is there a way that when an allied race is chosen a global(dynamic?) tag can be added to the roster so that the exclusion can reference this and show the allied unit in the proper category? Short of an item for a future iteration of AB3, can the current AB be "fooled" into this?
Of course, this is in reference to the AB40K filesin regards to application of groups, allies, and races...
