M&M 3rd ed. Close Combat and Ranged Combat Advantages

Neither advantage Closed Combat or Ranged Combat add to the appropriate skill. I've had to add them in recently as temporary bonuses.

They add in at the end, just not to the skills page.

For example, if you have a ranged attack(Blast), and you have the Ranged Attack advantage, you will see the correct total in the 'Special' tab by the Blast. The attack bonus will be your Ranged Attack (Blast) skill plus the Advantage, plus any other bonuses.

The skills page doesn't include any Advantages bonuses that I've seen so far, even Attractive isn't calculated in. I'm thinking that's done on purpose, but I can't be sure. :)

Indeed. The skills page doesn't show any "conditional" skill bonuses - for example, it doesn't show the Attractive bonuses because they only apply to checks made to "deceive, seduce, or change the attitude of anyone who finds your looks appealing."

That makes sense for the "conditional" effects like Attractive, since those are like bonuses to "subskills" within that set of skills.

But the Close and Ranged Attack Advantages aren't really conditional to their respective skills, since they should cover any situation where you use that skill bonus. Would it be difficult to allow those two to add up on the skills page?

This would be inappropriate, however, because it can cause confusion as to how things are adding up. I'd suggest using the Special tab to check your running totals for specific attacks.

Unless you have an extra column which showed the modifiers from Advantages, and that could get messy.
