Class archetypes

How do I choose a class archetype?

I have the latest Herolabs installed (which I suspect may be the cause of my problem :-(. I think this worked before today)

I have the pathfinder and Advanced Players Guide loaded.

I have clicked the "use archetypes" box in the hero portfolio

Yet when I create a bard I cannot choose any archetypes at all.
