Chill 3E

Started working on this. I hope this isn't a premature announcement. Usually, when I start working on a whole, new system, I get frustrated with issues I just can't resolve. But this one seems relatively simple. Hopefully, I can get 'er done.

There's some fiddliness in the various bits, but I can't see anything that should be impossible to resolve.

OK, I'm thinking I've got some misprints in my book, or I'm missing some nuance.
Full Disclosure: I've never actually played Chill, so I'm not an expert on it. I figured I'd give this a go to help out the person in our group who wants to run this. That being said ...

I've got basic character creation done ... I think ... maybe ... I'm using the prefab envoys in the book to validate my assumption.

With Basil "BB" Bottomley, I end up with one point left over.
I would normally be suspicious of my work before being suspicious of the book, but I moved on to a bigger sample size. I moved on to Rory Calhoun, and I noticed that Rory has a Perception of 50 and an investigation of 27. According to my reading of the rules, investigation is based on perception, and it's either half the value or the full value, depending on points spent. So it can only either be 25 or 50. It cannot be 27.

So now I'm more suspicious of the book.

Book writers are mortal like the rest of us. Sometimes you just gotta shrug and say, I think the program remembered something the writer didn't.

Huh. I know at least one of those had fixed something from the book, as there was initially a duplicated chunk from one character on another. Drop a note to the guys at Growling Door maybe?

I did. I gave them a couple of examples, and they said they'll have to go back through. Meanwhile, I have confirmation that the discrepancies I'm seeing are not errors on my part.

Who has three thumbs and is done with character creation for Chill 3E?

*points at self with all three thumbs*
This guy!
