The celestial servant feat for aasimars (found in Advanced Race Guide), allows you to add the celestial template to your animal companion, familiar, or special mount and also makes that creature a magical beast instead of an animal. Unfortunately, it seems Hero Lab is only adding the celestial template when applying this feat, and not also changing the creature's type. I have an aasimar druid Pathfinder Society character that rides around on a celestial roc and I've been using the iPad Hero Lab as a character sheet, but unfortunately Hero Lab's math is all wrong for my animal companion, since it's still using animal HD, BAB, etc., instead of magical beast.

I put in a bug report a month or so back, but I'm getting antsy because it's actually really hard to play the character with the current errors. I realize it's a pretty niche feat, but for people using the feat it's likely a major component of their character. Does anyone know any quick fixes for this? Thanks!

This feat isnt supposed to change numerical data for BAB or HD, this has been clarified by James Jacob here http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2l7ns&page=504?Ask-James-Jacobs-ALL-your-Questions-Here#25166

That bolded section, and becomes a magical beast. how does that interact with Druid Animal companion rules?Magical beasts gain Low-light vision (and darkvision but celestial template grants that already), D10 HD, and Fast BAB Progression (BAB = to total HD).

Is this feat saying that your companion gains those as well, instead of the Druid Animal companion BAB, and the d8 HD provided for Druid animal companions?

The creature's type is regarded as Magical Beast for the purposes of bane weapons, ranger favored enemies, and spells, but doesn't change the rate or type of enhancements the companion gains as your druid gains levels. It doesn't grant the magical beast type stuff like different HD and the like.

Hmm... That's interesting, and bizarre since that's not what the feat says it does. I also take all James Jacobs posts with a grain of salt as he frequently gets things wrong. If it were a Sean Reynolds or Jason Bulmahn ruling, I'd accept it hands down, but James Jacobs often makes snap calls that are either later contradicted or already known to be wrong.
