I'm sending copies of this to the datafile author and to the yahoo group in case I missed anything.

Hello, I've found several problems with the Yu-Gi-Oh datafiles.

Firstly, foils. Foils in Yu-Gi-Oh do not work like foils in other games. There are not both foil AND non-foil versions of cards. In the starter decks, there are 3 fixed foil cards, and 47 fixed non-foil cards. In the expansions, only super- and ultra-rares are foil, and they have no non-foil versions. There is no overlap at all with any of the cards, so there is no need for a foil tag at all. The sensible thing to do would be to remove this tag and all the cards associated with it and just not have a "format" tag group at all. This would make much more sense, and make things simpler for the user.

Second, the "Unknown" release needs to be removed. There are the Duelist King Tournament Pack 1, 2, and 3 promo sets that each have need to their own release, as well as individual releases for cards that came packaged with certain video games, in the special tins, the Duelist League promos, and the Shonen Jump Blue Eyes White Dragon, off the top of my head. I'm not sure what data you have and where you're getting it from, but http://www.yugiohrealms.com/ has info for all the American cards, including promos, as well as foreign cards, all under the "cardlist" link. If you can set up the releases the way they have them, things would work a lot better for the user. Plus, we need to be able to track all those cards with the inventory and we need to be able to deckbuild with them. I'd be glad to further explain things if need be.

Thank you for your time,

Kyle Turner
