Try running the installs again on the laptop, but this time UNcheck the box
on the final install page that auto-launches CV. Does that make a difference?
For those who have encountered the XP problem and those who have not, does
your system have all the latest XP patches and updates on it? I'm starting
to wonder whether Microsoft released a new "fix" recently that actually
breaks things. It sure wouldn't be the first time they've done something
monumentally stupid like that.
Let us know whatever you can about your system if you are running XP. Is it
Home or Pro? Is it SP1 or not? Do you have auto-updates enabled or not (for
XP, not CV)? Etc.....
Thanks, Rob
