Bootstrapped weapon doesn't show

Matt Droz

Well-known member
So, I'm creating an elven bow which is identical to a regular longbow, except that it can be wielded as a two-handed melee weapon as well (same stats as a club).

I'm able to bootstrap the melee weapon version to the ranged weapon version, and it works fine... until I try to make the weapon masterwork/magical. Then the boot strap doesn't show up. Any ideas?

When you add the weapon to a Custom/magical weapon it (and any bootstraps) is within a new container (not the hero). So you would need to have the helper weapon be shadowed from the container to the hero. I think you can do that with a Helper.Shadow tag on your helper club.

Intriguing. That worked, but if I try to create a magic weapon through the editor, then it shows the helper club, but does not bring over the stats for the club (damage, proficiency, etc.).

Are you trying to create a specific magical club? Or a specific magical version of this longbow with the helper club? I don't quite understand.

Well, then try using the modified longbow for the wSpecMagic Gizmo, and also bootstrap the helper club I suppose.
