Bonus types and types of special abilities

How do I use and/or define a bonus type? The Swashbuckler's Grace, e.g., grants a +1 competence bonus to Reflex saves.

Bonus types are very common in spells, but I didn't find it there. For the correct calculation of in-game effects, this information hast to be there, somewhere, doesn't it?
