Bestiary Missing Sources?

LaChaton

New member
I just got all three bestiaries and when I go to open them next to all of the creatures is [missing source!]. How can I fix this? I just purchased the add on.
Thanks.

There are a great many stock portfolios in Hero Lab now, and not all are from Paizo Bestiaries.

Make sure to look at the name of the stock portfolio you're opening. There are some stock portfolios whose names start with FGG - Frog God Games, publishers of the Tome of Horrors, and some starting with KP - Kobold Press, publishers of the Midgard Bestiary. Those are both 3rd Party Publishers whose Bestiaries we've added to Hero Lab (both as separate purchases). The Monsters from the Paizo Bestiaries don't have initials in front of their names - just Miscellaneous Monsters (A-B), etc.

Did you remember to reactivate your license after making the purchase?

I had the same problem and e-mailed support. It took them forever to respond and when they finally did it was a bunch of gibberish that didn't make any sense to me. Didn't even tell me how to fix the problem. I wrote back that I wasn't pleased and needed to know how to fix the problem. I wasn't happy by the time I clicked send so I just deleted the program and reinstalled it. The problem is fixed for now. Now I have to bring the files from my campaigns in and see if it continues to work.

The support team may know the program inside and out, but they need to realize that most users barely know enough to run a character with the program. A few more users know enough to run a battle while GMing and beyond that the users are lost. So telling a user that it's a problem with third party updates and nothing else is not helpful.
