Bestiary ETA?

I'm the one holding up the Bestiary. I'm still working on it, and there are still a few weeks of work left on it.
 
One of the primary issues is that we have to get every special ability for every monster coded correctly and tested, with all the appropriate adjustments being made. There are a huge number of abilities and we underestimated the volume, so that's proving to be much more time-consuming than we first expected. There were a few other surprises as well, but those have been resolved, so it appears to be just a matter of slogging through the remaining creatures at this point.

The good news is that you'll be able to construct your own monsters from all the assorted abilities quite easily. You'll also be able to use all these abilities as examples for how to readily create your own custom abilities.

This project is Mathias' #1 priority, so it will be out as quickly as it can be finished.

I see you added some of this already to the base with all the different types on the races are getting lets hope that means you are getting close to being done with the Bestiary

Will the Bestiary be an additional charge or will that be part of the PF license? What about when the APG and GMG come out later this year?
 
The thread that Mindcloud provides gives an ETA of March 19, 2010. As it's now about a month later it seems the Bestiary should be available. As I'm new to the product (although posts here and on Paizo's forums seem to indicate it is an awesome product) how far is the lag between typical ETA and actual release dates? Don't take this as one of those customers that expect something on the ETA (as referenced in the above link provided by Mindcloud) and then complain loudly when not provided. Just an overall wonderment.
If the PF dataset was ETA'd Aug. 19 2009 how far out was it actually released (just made up the date). Being unemployed, I have to gather up my Dead President Coupons and stash them in a drawer and the longer I have the easier it is.

It currently looks like we'll be releasing the Bestiary in the middle of next week. We've also got some bug fixes for Hero Lab itself, so the Bestiary release will coincide with a V3.6a update (or maybe be the following day after V3.6a).

Sweet I cant wait is there any details what you guys were able to do and not to do with the Monster editing
 
Could you please elaborate on what capabilities you were looking for?

When creating new monsters can I make a new monster not using the editor? or am I going to have to edit in the base monster

Or is there like a aberation base that I can add things on like a character?

Will all the previous Monsters (from The adventure Paths Bestiary)

What new little extras are you guys really proud of?

There are so many abilities that have to be placed on a creature and so many things to set that I doubt there'd ever be a good way to create a monster without using the editor.

The adventure path monsters will not be in the initial release. They are something we'd like to do down the road, but that's not likely to happen very soon (unless many people vote for it).

I think the type mechanics that became available in the last release are the big change in the Bestiary - getting all those BAB, save and default ability calculations to happen behind the scenes, so that all the user has to do to set up the basic features of a race is to choose the type, subtypes and set the attributes. After that, everything else is a matter of setting the attacks and special abilities.
