Best way to make small changes to existing monsters

I'm curious as to what the best way to make small tweaks to existing monsters in HL.

My setup: RW+HL. I create a monster article in RW, then open portfolio from RW, add monster via HL, save and exit.

The situation I have is where I want to use existing monster -- just with minor tweaks.

Example 1: Storm King's Thunder added a variety of new actions that giants can perform (Fling, Squash, etc.). I would like to add these to the giants (or at least my version that gets opened via RW) without doing a custom NPC monster for scratch.

Example 2: many books give a monster details by saying "they are X, but with Y and Z changes). I would like to use the base monster in HL and make the minor changes, rather than doing a custom NPC monster from scratch.

Is there an easy/obvious way that I am missing? Or are my options (1) use to use the HL Editor, or (2) create custom NPC monsters for anything that isn't 100% standard.

In the Community Pack I added an adjustment called "Race, Custom Ability" that lets you add a generic ability. You can give it a name and fill in text up to like a 100 characters. This can be found on the Adjustment tab if you have the 5e PHB community source turned on.

That sounds like what your asking to do. Then just save the changes in the .por file.
