Has there been any progress or details on getting rosters made with
older datafiles to still be useable when new datafiles come out?
This never used to be a problem in the past if I remember correctly.
It seems that it only happened after version 2 came out. Don't get
me wrong, I love version 2, but I would like to not have to redo my
army lists everytime I update datafiles. Especially if the new
datafiles only fix minor little things.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is fixed in AB2.2. Download it today! :)

It's MOSTLY fixed in V2.2. The problem with AB failing to read in old
rosters properly has been fixed. However, it is still possible for the data
file author to make changes to the data files that render old rosters
unusable. V2.2 now adds some smarts to the loading of rosters so that it
does a pretty good job of adjusting, but it's not foolproof. If you load a
roster that contains units which have changed too much for AB to handle, AB
will offer to salvage all the units that it can. But AB is still reliant
upon the data file authors to provide a clean migration from one release of
data files to the next.

Just wanted to clarify, since your statement above could be somewhat
misleading if taken as an absolute statement. :-)

Thanks, Rob
