Autosave or crash recovery?

Is there any plans on implementing a feature like this?

This program rarely rarely crashes, but when it does... ouch.

How difficult would it be to add this?
 
This can be counted as a second vote for the AutoSave feature, although crash recovery would be a feasible alternative.
