Does anyone know where I can get the old unupdated files of AB before
you could only go up to 500, i'm pretty sure there is a 1,000 point
version, if not, does anyone know any other programs as good as AB
that will go up to atleast 1,000, for free?

Some people I know just make multiple 500 pt
lists to make larger ones. You just have to
ignore some of the validation rules.

There *isn't* any other program as good as AB, free or not. Just buy the
software and take care of the problem. Otherwise, it's just pen & paper...

actually I preferr to use excell to total up my space marines.

it allows me to add all the weapon points and such up and makes it easier
to add little custom things like the sgt of one of my assault squads
packing a flamer (5pts).

also I have the demo army builder so I can check my work per squad.

I don't count Excel, not because it's no good, nor because it can't be used,
but it doesn't have everything already built-in, ready to go. TO use it, one
has to do a *lot* of work onesself, or simply use it in lieu of pen & paper.

You're hardly the only one to use Excel, and for those who like it, it's just
fine, however it's not an Army Building Package like AB is, which basically
gets to the root of his question. Even if it did, it costs more than AB itself
does.
