Armor Check Penalty applies to Attack Bonus Calculations.

Did I miss some change in the errata in the last few months I have not been playing? The armor check penalty is being applied to my normal to attack bonus now. A lvl 1 fighter with a longsword and banded mail with a 16 str has a -2 to their to hit roll with the longsword and I am seeing a -6 ACP in the calculations when I mouse over.

I'd check your archetypes - did one of them remove heavy armor proficiency from the fighter class? Armor you're not proficient in applies its ACP to attacks and initiative as well.

Nope, that character has all 3 armor feats.

If I create a brand new character, give it 1 level of fighter add any armor with an armor check penalty light, medium, or heavy and equip it, it changes my attack rolls by the armor check penalty. I have not even assigned all the feats or skills all I did was what I listed above on a brand new character.

I've built your example and it works fine in 8.8F with PF 14.16

Does the attack bonus change when you equip and unequip the armour?

I see your problem if I switch on "Ultimate Combat => Ultimate Combat Piecemeal Armor" in the Configure Hero window.

Perhaps those rules apply the bonus differently?

Farling, yes thank you that was it. The Piecemeal armor option from ultimate combat is doing it. Not sure why that would be doing that though.
