Animals & Tricks

Trying to recreate a player's character for an upcoming session and having difficulty giving his animal companions their tricks. Hero Lab won't let me give some to certain companions as they're simply not listed, not even greyed out.

I can't give Bury or Watch or Sneak or Flee to a Dire Rat, for instance, or Heel, Flee, Get Help, Deliver, Sneak or Watch to a bat.

Are there restrictions on these that I don't know of or is there an add-on package that is needed or is it just an oversight in the program?

Some of those may be from an add-on package, but others are core.

I submitted a bug report previously that the Huntmaster Cavalier's dog A.C. comes pre-defined for riding, but he can't ride it and there does not appear to be any way to customize the A.C.'s tricks or purpose. You may want to do the same, as this seems like a broader case of the same issue.

Heel is the only one of those that is in the core, and should therefore be available to all. The others are from Animal Archive, so make sure you have than enabled for the hero.

For the animal that isn't showing Heel as an option, can you give me some more information? What is the master's class? Does the master have any archetypes?

Sorry, I should've mentioned that the Animal Archive is indeed enabled. The tricks show up for familiars, just not any animals that I add to a portfolio. They shouldn't be affected by the master at all as training is handled by Handle Animal, not any class or race ability.

I've since created them as individual portfolios and it seems to work OK that way, it was only when I was combining them within another portfolio that there seemed to be an issue.
