Hello, I'm a new user of Hero Lab, just bought the Pathfinder box and some of the books this week. I'm making a ranger, and I'm confused as how to give my companion barding. I've given my pet armor proficiencies, so that won't be an issue. I can't find where the barding section is. Could someone please help?
 
Barding is just armor. You can use the Size Selector ("Add armor of size XXXX") on the Armor tab to choose the correct size for the armor, add it to your hero (since your animal companion likely doesn't have any money), and then transfer it to your companion using the white Bag icon on the right side of the armor entry.

I always transfer money to the minion, and buy on it then transfer the change back.

I do this to have HL take into account issues with additional cost from Quadruped etc. I'm assuming it considers this, but your post makes me wonder if I need to audit the value of all armor on minions/ac/etc.
 
Ah, you're right. I forgot non-humanoids had to pay extra for their armor. Buying it on the minion would be better then.
