Currently, I'm trying to get an option set up using xlat, but the option
doesn't make that change.
The problem probably is that the unit where this doesn't work, has
inherited the stat being used through the chld attribute from it's
parent (where xlat works fine, BTW).
In testing things, I found that the base attribute works if I say
base:Cost=1, but not if I say base:Cost=(Grade). But, the vwst
attribute does report the correct value for Grade.
I've made a lot of alterations of the timing as well, and that doesn't
seem to help, either.
The other problem I'm having is that not only are the child units of the
original parent supposed to get the same attribute value (by chld), the
grandchildren are supposed to get it, too, but I've tried altering the
timing of a chld attribute on the child unit, and the grandchildren
don't receive that attribute change.
If there's another way to do this, please tell me, I want every child
and grandchild of a parent unit to share the same value for a stat(which
represents the experience level of the troops). I also need to base the
cost of each model off it's Grade, which is why I'm using xlat. Is
there a way to do this using types, perhaps? Or can I use an option
selector (tabl) to select between the four available grades, and then
have the children and grandchildren mirror (mirr) the selected option?
Just thought to test the tabl and mirr combo - if the options are
selected by tabl, they aren't mirrored, but if they're put out there on
their own, they do mirror correctly, and it does propagate down to the
grandchildren.
Sorry if I didn't explain everything clearly.
Thank You
