Rob,

I realize that under the race tab you can designate a composition
group for all allies to be placed in upon selection using the "ally
group" field, but are there any plans to allow for mode based
selection of the "ally group" composition group in the future?

It doesn't affect my ability to do anything right now I thought it
would have made one thing I did do easier though! ;-)

Thanks,

Woody

I'm not sure I understand your question. You CAN define multiple
composition breakdown rules for a given race via the "xbrk" attribute. Are
you wanting to specify an alternate DEFAULT rule-set based on the mode? Or
is it something else?

Please clarify and ideally provide an example. I usually work best with
concrete examples, since it ensures that I can associate the conceptual
functionality with something tangible. :-)

Thanks, Rob

Race A has allies from Race B. All Race A's allies (Units of race
B) are placed into Composition Group "oth3" via the "ally group"
field on the race tab of ABCreator. This works fine. What if in a
scenario one wanted all allies of Race A to be placed into a
different composition group, say "oth4" -one that was not selected
in the "ally group" field, how would that be done easily?

I was simply wanting to know whether you were intending on allowing
for the setting of the "Ally Group" field on the race tab via a
alternate comp group or mode in the future so... that within either
the "xbrk" attribute you can specify an alternate composition group
for allies to be placed into, thereby overiding the "ally group"
field;OR within the "mode" attribute the ability to select an
alternate "ally group" in addition to the "rule set" one selects.

I think one could work around the issue giving an option to affected
units with a "lglx" attribute using (race & mode) syntax in
conjunction with an "xcmp" attribute.

Ah! It's amazing how reliant I am upon a concrete example. NOW I
understand! :-)

There is no current support for what you are asking for. However, this is a
good suggestion and I'll put this on the todo list. In the meantime, you're
analysis is correct regarding how to solve the problem in V2.2.

Thanks, Rob
