Alchemist bombs and bonus levels

I have been trying to code an ability that adds 1 effective level for purposes of determining alchemist bomb damage. I first took a look at the Master Chymist prestige class which is supposed to stack with Alchemist levels for bomb damage, but that prestige class doesn't work in that fashion in Hero Lab.

Dissecting the scripts, it looks like the Bomb ability uses XCount to copy counts of itself to determine damage, so I'm not sure how to proceed. Increasing the XCount will just skew the damage a permanent die, which isn't what adding 1 level would do. I considered an Archetype, but then, if I understand correctly, it would make it illegal to use any actual Archetype that alters bomb progression.

Thoughts/ideas? I already put in a bug report on the Master Chymist class.
