M&M 3rd ed. Affliction (Overcome by)

In Mutants and Masterminds it is quite common to have an Affliction that is Overcome by a different resistance than the initial save such as; A blinding affliction that is initially a dodge save and then recovering from the blind is a fortitude save.

In Hero Lab there is no way to display it as such, there is an Alternate Resistance modifier but the way this is displayed it shows it as a full conversion to the new save (both initial and overcome).

Also as shown in numerous power profiles, another possibility is the affliction is overcome by strength or even damage (an example of this would be breaking free from restraints) and there is no way to display it as such in Hero Lab.

If this could be added that would be amazing, I'm really enjoying using Hero Lab and I hope that the M&M3e rules can be updated to reflect the recent additions shown in the Power Profiles.

Thanks.

Also, as a side note, is there a way to permanently add custom descriptors to the list in Hero Lab?

Offhand, you'd probably have to change the Tag Expression and possibly the Eval Script in the editor.

Descriptors are easier. Go into the editor. Click on the Descriptor tab, Click on Add Blank (or Add Copy), plug in a name and a Unique ID, Save, and click Test Now. So long as you have that edit file present, your descriptor will come up.

I, too, would like to see Resisted and Overcome as separate entries for Affliction in HL. In the meantime, there is always the Customize option under modifiers which allows you to define your own Conditions as well as R&O. That should suffice until they add in the Variable Conditions, Limited to 3rd Degree Flaw, and the Illusionary stream of Figment/Phantasm/Immersion.
