Adjusting money?

After you configure a character in Hero Lab, how do you remove money from him? I started a new character tonight and screwed up when I was adding multiples of some items, so he only paid for one of the item, but got the multiples. Then when I saw my mistake and sold them back, it sold all of them so the character ended up with more money then he had.

Also, is there an option so that when you add mutiples of items, it automatically takes out money for all the multiple items every time? Only way I can do it is adjust it every time I buy multi of something. Its a pain.

If you also go to the journal tab for the hero. You will see a spot for money value entry there. PP, GP, SP, and CP. In one of those slots you can enter a negative value in one of those fields to subtract the number you can. For instance: -5 and then hit earn and it will subtract that amount from the field you choose such as if you put -5 in the GP field and hit earn you will subtract 5 gp from your gold amount.

You can do this, but I don't like having a journal entry for this because it kinda screws things up. HL has a bad problem of not calculating GP correct when you buy stuff, so I use HL to help me price items and then I double check them in the Core Rulebook. I have an Excel Spreadsheet that I use to keep track of purchases, and then I 'buy' a 'custom gear' under the 'Gear' tab and I either purchase it for the money I'm down, or buy it for 0 GP and sell it for the GP I should have.

You notice GP discrepancies because a lot of the time your 'Gear Value' at the top right corner is actually more than the amount of money you spent. Some of these discrepancies are due to things like the pricing for items made of special metals not being calculated correctly.

Can you give us examples?
I'm not aware of any errors in pricing at the moment.

As someone else said, are you using the "Set" function to tell the program to charge you the price of the item? If you choose to ignore that step, the default price is the regular price of the item.
