Adjusting Core Features of SW?

Here's a tough one (maybe)?

I'm running a test on changing the costs of Advancements in my game. Advancements are every 4xp instead of 5 and New Power is the same cost as a Lesser Skill. The Rank increases every 20xp per usual (until Legendary of course).

Is it possible for me to make these changes or am I "plum outta luck"?

If I can (with the right know-how) please assist?

Advances are built into the core files, so this is one of those situations where you'd have to make a copy of the entire game system so that you could modify them (assuming you have the Authoring Kit). I don't know enough to walk you through how to make that kind of change, but there is a lot of detail specifically for how they created the Savage Worlds data set on the wiki. Probably Caped Crusader or Mathias would be better at giving a more step-by-step response on how to do that.

At a guess the 4xp thing is probably going to be the easier part. Making a single Edge no longer cost the value of an Edge, however... that's a major change in the base logic of Savage Worlds itself, since you're making a single Edge essentially no longer being an Edge but you still want it to act like one... Maybe one of the devs can help there, but I think that one would also need to be doing by modifying the core rules set. I can't think of any way of doing it just in the Editor, anyway, but I'm no expert, that's for sure.

Hmmm... Let me look at this one as far as the 4/5xp thing. The existing New Power is set up to only allow it to be chosen once per Rank, so you'd need to create your own. You can also create a new Advance and assign it's cost as half an Advance like the Lesser Skill is. Then attach the copy of New Power to the Advance.
