Adding Animal Companions/Mounts to a variant/Custom Class

Please tell me exactly what problem you're having. Yes, the tutorials do not cover everything that could possibly be done in HeroLab, because there are just too many possibilities to cover.

I'd suggest you study the Druid, Ranger, and Paladin classes, along with the cleric's animal domain. From those you can figure out how their animal companions are assigned, and use that to add your own.
