Adding a +1 Weapon?

I feel like such an idiot having to ask this. I'm sure that the answer is obvious, but I just can't see it.

When I go to equip my characters, the only options I have for weapons are standard weapons, and then super-duper-uber magical weapons - like the Holy Avenger. I cannot figure out, for the life of me, how to add a good ol' +1 short sword.

Because there is so much variety, unless you're talking about those super-special weapons, you build them as custom magic weapons.

So.. select the add Magic weapon link, then look for the Custom Magic or Masterwork Weapon option (at the top of the list), then select the type of weapon in the next form/window, and give it the bonus you need.
