ok, first the dragonscale shield (5+ armor save 6+ ward save) is actually giving a 4+ armor save. An elf dude with no equipment other than hand weapon and dragonscale shiled is showing up with a 4+/3+ armor save.

and second Army builder lets you put heros in chariots which I think is great, but I cant find that allowed anywhere in their book.

It is located in the Heroes sidebar on pg. 25 of the High Elf Army book, the last paragraph says any lord or hero may ride in a chariot, and they displace a single crew man
