Hello Folks,
I'm new to Hero Lab, and indeed to Pathfinder Society, so I might be missing something pretty basic as to why I can't add the spell Long Arm to my Magus on Hero Lab. I've searched the Paizo and Lone Wolf forums, but I can't spot anyone else having the same problem. Here's what I know: 1. My Hero Lab is up to date. 2. The spell is from Advanced Class Guide, which I have purchased and loaded up on Hero Lab on my Mac. 3. I can't find the spell anywhere on the list of spells available to add to my Magus's spellbook. 4. I tried adding it manually using an Other Adjustment - Add Spell to Class Spell List, but again I couldn't find it on the list of spells there either. Anyone help me work out if I am doing something wrong, or how I might report it as a bug for a missing spell if it should be there? I've just found a post by Aaron n 25 Nov 15 which indicates the spell has been added as a Spell Adjustment, but I can't find it on that list either :-( Cheers for your time, Jim Last edited by Zirlock; March 19th, 2016 at 06:03 AM. |

Are you multiclassed with more than one spellbook casting class that can cast Long arm? If so you may already have a copy of the spell in one of you other spellbooks, which causes it to be unavailable in a 2nd. This is a long standing bug which should be fixed in the next release.
If that isn't the issue, submit a bug report, preferably with the portfolio attached. |

Aaron, thanks for the reply.
No he is single class. I'll submit a bug report. I just wanted to check I wasn't missing something official that had removed he spell for PFS or it was updated by a book I don't own therefore missing from the ACG. Cheers again, Jim |

You have the APG activated? Open your character and press "CTRL-K" and make sure "APG" is check marked.

It was as simple as that. ACG wasn't ticked. Don't know why as everything else I own was, but there you have it.
Many thanks to you both for your help.. Jim |

If you saved the character before purchasing the ACG, Hero Lab would have recorded that you're not using that book for that character.
The reason we record the status of the ones you don't own yet is so that if a user who owns relatively few books in HL sends their character to the GM, who owns more books, and the GM edits it and sends it back, we don't want all the books the GM owns to become activated on that character, which would cause problems when the player tried to use it again. |

That all makes sense; thanks for taking the trouble to explain. I've now gone through all my other characters and made sure everything I own is checked. It will be one to bear in mind when I buy Occult Adventures.
Thanks again, Jim |

If you don't save a character between the time we put a package on sale and when you buy the package, Hero Lab will give that character the default settings for that new content (which is usually turned on, except for any optional rules added in that book) - before then, Hero Lab did not know that package existed, so it did not record whether this character is using this package, one way or the other.
